Sheriff Devlin with then Milford Central School Senior Blake Elliot who was presenting his Senior Interdisciplinary Project on Remington Firearms. The School requested that a Law Enforcement Officer be present since firearms were part of the presentation. Sheriff Devlin donated his time to be present and was quite impressed with Blakes knowledge of firearms and the Remington brand.

Dr. Montgomery honors EMS, fire fighters and law enforcement.

Rich is presented with the highest award in scouting the Eagle Scout in 1978. Present were Rich’s parents and Don Mulberry from the Boy Scouts of America.

 


 

Rich has been a member of the Milford Fire Department since 1980 and has been the Chief for the past 8 years. Rich was also a member of the Emergency Squad for over 15 years and served as its Captain from 1988-1996. Rich has held many entry-level positions in the department working his way through the ranks to its leader.

Rich with K-9 Marty. Marty is the departments K-9 member named after late Sheriff Marty Ralph. Marty’s handler, Deputy Stan Cade does occasionally like to take a vacation. When Deputy Cade is away Marty stays with Rich and his family which is his second home instead of being kenneled.
